I’m in Galashiels and have been going through some family jewellery that’s been tucked away for years. I’ve found an 18 carat gold locket, a 9 carat citrine ring, a few broken gold chains, an antique diamond three stone ring, plus a silver vinaigrette and a small silver photo frame.
Can anyone recommend the best place locally to sell gold and antique diamonds? Ideally somewhere simple for jewellery & silver for cash without the delays of an auction.
I’m just over in Tweedbank and sold my items with Northern Bullion. I brought in a couple of gold sovereigns, an 18ct chain, a 9ct wedding ring, a diamond cluster pendant, and a silver tankard. Everything was explained clearly and they paid me straight away.
I’m from Melrose and recently cleared out some inherited jewellery. I considered auctioning a gold pocket watch and Victorian silver pieces, but auctions are no good due to long wait times and high commission rates, better off using Northern Bullion. It was much simpler dealing with them directly.
